Three cheese grilled cheese sandwiches on marble rye bread make a great companion to a bowl of hot soup.
I first discovered marble rye bread by being a huge fan of the patty melt. Â Traditionally served on rye bread, a local restaurant has a marble rye patty melt. Â This bread is delicious and I use it for many recipes. Â I try to be aware of potentially food waste. Â Because of this, I try to plan meals around ingredients. Â While I only use 1/4 to 1/2 of a loaf of bread when making these for my family, I often add other recipes like monte cristos to the list for the same week.
Gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches have become popular in the United States.  Growing up, we would melt Velveeta between two pieces of white bread on a griddle.  This makes a fantastic sandwich and I still make them this way sometimes.  However, I like to experiment with flavors and ingredients.  For this recipe I used provolone, American and Swiss.  Access to multiple flavors of cheese is available to everybody these days.  Give this a try with any of your favorite cheeses.  Gouda as an excellent choice in these sandwiches as well.
Fry your sandwich in butter or mayonnaise and serve alongside a warm bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup.
