Crockpot pepper steak is a recipe that I found online. Â I made this as directed here in this video. Â If I am being honest, it wasn’t as good as I had hoped. Â The steak was a little too tender and more akin to stew meat. Â It looked tasty, but the flavor left something to be desired as well. Â I also added some steamed broccoli to the top of this both for color and texture. Â All of that said, there is some potential here. Â I am going to try this again and add some onion soup mix next time. Â It was a lot like beef tips so I am going to use that as a reference.
This crockpot pepper steak recipe is almost a combination of beef tips and stir fry. Â While the former is great in a crockpot, I have never tried a crockpot stir fry before. Â I always try to start with a good cut of meat for a recipe like this so I got a nice New York Strip for this and cut it into strips. Â Perhaps I would have had a better meat texture if I had seared my steak first. Â I will try that next time.
The beef stock, soy sauce and brown sugar had me thinking this was going to be an explosion of flavor. Â It was good. Â My wife and I both ate it. Â It could just have some more flavor.
