Chicken Bacon Ranch Pie came out of the combination of trying to make a chicken wrap and my Taco Pie recipe.
I was attempting to make a crescent roll stuffed with chicken, bacon, ranch and cheese. Â I took a chicken breast, cut it into strips, wrapped it with cheese, add some ranch and then wrap the entire thing inside of a crescent roll. Â This didn’t work out very well.
One day I was making Taco Pie and thought “hmmm…. I wonder” and “Chicken Bacon Ranch Pie” was born.
Prepare your chicken however you wish. Â I cubed up and seasoned two raw chicken breasts and cooked in my air frier. Â Preferably, you grill your chicken before using it in this recipe.
I made the pie crust in a cast iron skillet. Â I am looking forward to trying it on a grill or over an open flame when the weather gets warmer here. Â I am always looking for new things to make on my deck or at my campsite.
I do want to try this as a pizza but need to modify it. Â I will post the results of that here when I do. Â A more traditional pizza crust and less sauce would make this much more pizza like.
